Instructions for installing Matlab Add-Ons into your home directory can be found at the Get Add-Ons page at Mathworks' site. Add-Ons include toolboxes, apps, and hardware support packages.
One thing to note is that when installing add-ons manually in Linux, they will be placed in this directory: /home/<Internet ID>/Documents/MATLAB/Add-Ons
