Windows Servers

wts.umn.edu is a service backed by set of powerful Windows Remote Desktop (formerly known as Windows Terminal Services) servers available to CLA and its partners.  They are primarily focused on providing graphical access to remotely hosted research software.

When you connect to wts.umn.edu using the Windows Remote Desktop client, the system assigns you to one of the primary servers based on available resources.  That said, CPUs and RAM are shared between all users on a particular server and can occasionally but rarely cause resource contention.

For more information on how to connect and use wts.umn.edu please see our instructions.
